Welcome to the Stratum Matching Grant! Everything you need to know about our grant program can be found below.
The Grant Program continues to grow and after reviewing all the applications we are excited to be able to offer 36 matching grants to new churches across the Bay Area!
Important Reminders:
- 📈 The intent of the matching grant is to strengthen your fundraising and catalyze additional resources for your church. Regular tithes should not be directed towards the matching grant. If there is one major donor that would like to contribute the full amount, we’d encourage you to use that opportunity to raise additional funds by having the donor match what your community/congregation can raise. Reach out if you’d like examples from churches that have used the match this way.
- 📫 Checks should now be mailed to:
- Stratum, PO Box 29603, San Francisco, CA 94129-9603
- Church name should be included on memo line
- Stock gifts can be initiated at:
- 🔌 We highly recommend you utilize an embedded plug-in for your donation page on your website (looks so much better and won’t take donors away from your website)
⏱️ Program ends March 31, 2027.
How the match works
📥 All funds to your matching grant must be donated directly to Stratum through your unique giving page
- This means that donors cannot give to your church and then a large check be sent to Stratum. Donations need to be accurately matched to the donors contributing to the matching grant so please ensure donors have your unique giving link or send donations directly to our PO Box
✏️ Donation are tracked by our team. Weekly giving reports go out on Mondays.
📣 Let us know if additional people should also see this report (finance team, additional pastor, etc)
This grant is structured as a 1:1 matching grant, which means that for every $1 you raise, you will receive $1 in grant funds.
- An example of how a $15,000 grant would be matched
🎉 Any additional funds raised over and above the grant total will not be matched, but will be included in your grant total.
- There is no limit to how much you can raise. We encourage you to consider asking people inside your church as well as outside donors, churches, and organizations to donate. Each year some grant recipients have doubled or tripled their total with effective fundraising. Our orientation video talks through some of this.
